Maps.com's Mapping Services provides three types of services: Custom Map Creation, Digital Content Licensing, and Publishing. Mapping Services are used by a broad range of businesses in a number of vertical markets with the three largest being educational publishing, telecommunications (telephone directory and wireless), and multi-location retail/restaurant chains. Mapping Services works with the cruise line, real estate, and ticket broker industries, major map and travel guide publishers, and general businesses requiring sales territory maps, marketing and strategic planning maps, and other digital and printed presentation and display maps.
Maps101 Online Education Program
Maps.com's Maps101 program was developed in 1998 and was one of the first online subscriptions services sold to K-12 schools for the purpose of supplementing and complimenting traditional history, social studies, and geography curriculum materials. Maps101.com, a web based interactive database is comprised of teacher lesson plans, geography tools, online learning games, dynamic interactive map modules, and over 4,000 viewable and printable history, thematic, reference, outline, current events, and animated maps. Maps101 is currently used by over 4,500 K-12 schools in the US, including the Los Angeles Unified School District and Chicago Public School District.
